The Queenstown based Australian client approached Triple Star towards the end of developed design to take control of the project and ensure timely delivery, accountability for cost and the level of quality they expected.

This is a 650 square meter concrete block house with solid plaster walls both inside and out. The roof is clad in zinc with double glazed steel windows. The interior comprises decorative coffer ceilings, large fire places, extensive built in joinery and natural stone bathrooms. The home is heated by a ground sourced heat pump system and a roof based ventilation system with three open fires.

After a competitive tender the contract was awarded to Bayshore Builders. We decided to adopt an open approach with the builder and work alongside them to procure the most suitable subcontractors to undertake the job, using a combination of local and national suppliers and subcontractors on the project.

Triple Star worked closely with the client to finalise finishes, materials, fixtures and fittings.

Robinson House started in December 2008 and was completed in December 2009 on budget and on time.

Key involvement included:

  • active construction management of building trades
