Hogans Gully Residential - Wakatipu Basin

This project includes the demolition of an existing house and construction of a new 664m2 dwelling (including 44m2 loggia), a new three-bay storage shed and possibly a new 145m2 cottage (potential stage 2 of the build).

The residential dwelling will consist of two main gables running east to west linked by a flat roof section and with a flat roof garage located on the south-eastern corner.

External cladding includes stacked schist stone, cedar timber, board-form concrete, pressed metal plate chimneys, corrugate profile roofing and aluminium joinery.

The floor plan of the new dwelling includes four bedrooms, each with ensuite, games room / bar, wine room and three-car garage (with lock up and plant/storage areas).  External areas include a generous loggia area extending out from the main dining and kitchen area as well as other external terraces.

A 145m2 cottage has also been fully designed and consented and this will be located behind and to the south of the main dwelling on a gently sloping knoll overlooking the main house.  The cottage will be single level and will contain a bedroom with ensuite, laundry and kitchen/dining/living area as well as loggia and carport.

Externally, the cottage has been designed to present as a secondary and more rural farm building - a simple gable form, with aged weathered corrugate selected as the main cladding (walls and roof) to make the building appear as if it has been on site for some time and to add to its rural appearance.  Other exterior materials include timber barn doors, board-form concrete and a metal plate chimney (to match main dwelling).
