Lot 22 Residential - Wyuna

"Mason & Wales Architects enjoy working with Triple Star to deliver complex projects of the highest quality for discerning clients from all over the world".

Hamish Muir Architect

Located within the prestigious Wyuna Preserve, this project included the management and construction of an extraordinary home encompassing a total of 1,150m2

The exterior of this home is characterised by local Wyuna Station schist cladding, cedar weatherboards, off-the-form concrete, Purple Heart hardwood detailing, cedar shutters, recessed glazing, and four large stone chimneys. It is further complimented by the extensive hard and soft landscaping, including native planting and widespread schist landscaping walls.

Within the lower level of this home, key features include a large garage with glass garage door, a wine cellar, a bar and billiards area, an eight-person cinema, a spa and steam room with showers and changing area. A feature ‘floating’ bluestone staircase links the lower level of 450mwith the upper level of 650m2.

The upper level contains the main entrance lobby, large study, feature gas fireplace with library-style book shelving, gym, Boffi designer kitchen and a ‘great room’ with a vaulted ceiling lined in oak and a large two-metre open wood fireplace. The large master bedroom on this level includes floor-to-ceiling windows, generous ensuite and walk-in-wardrobes. The remaining three bedrooms each contain generous ensuites and dressing rooms.

This property also features state-of-the-art controls systems, fittings and fixtures – many of which were sourced from Europe and the USA. This required detailed programme management to ensure lead times aligned with the construction programme.

External areas of the building include paved areas to all sides of the house, as well as a louvred roof over the patio adjacent to the dining room. A BBQ area, spa pool and large outdoor wood fireplace are other key components of the outdoor living provided at this dwelling. A standalone plant room of 50mwas also included in the development, and this contains a 60Kw log boiler with diesel backup and a gas bottle bank.

A key challenge of this build was that 500mof the basement construction was into solid rock, requiring significant bulk earthworks and rock breaking as well as rock anchoring in several areas.
